2005 PCC Event Information:
1.
World Curling Federation (WCF) rules apply, unless
otherwise indicated below, or stated during the Official
Team Meeting, which is scheduled between 17:15-18:00
at the Taipei Fortuna(Official Hotel) on Thursday,
01 December 2005.
2. The Women (6 teams) and the Men (6 teams) will
play a single round-robin. At the end of the round-robin
series there must be a clear ranking from 1 to 4.
If tiebreaker games or stones are required to determine
this ranking, the WCF Rules of Competition (Section
12 & 14) and the tie-breaking charts (shown in
the WCF Rules of Play and Competition booklet ¡V Page
22-23) will be used. In the semi-final games the team
ranked number 1 will play a ¡§best-of-three¡¨ series
of games against the team ranked number 4, and the
team ranked number 2 will play a ¡§best-of-three¡¨
series of games against the team ranked number 3.
The winners of the semi-final series will play in
the Gold / Silver medal game, and both will qualify
for the 2006 World Curling Championships. The losers
of the semi-final series will play in the Bronze medal
game. There will also be a final ranking game, for
the teams that were in 5th and 6th position after
the round-robin, played on Wednesday, 07 December
2005.
3. All games will be ten (10) ends, with extra end(s)
to break tied games.
4. There will be a ten minute practice for each team
before every game. The practice starts 30 minutes
before the scheduled game time that is shown on the
schedule (i.e. ¡V schedule shows 09:00 therefore 08:30
¡V 08:40 the team having last stone in the first end
practices, 08:40 ¡V 08:50 the other team practices,
08:50 ¡V 09:00 ice cleaning, 09:00 the game starts).
5. In the official schedule the „_ indicates last
stone in the first end. (All teams must toss to see
who has last stone in the first end of the first game;
this must be done at the Team Meeting).

In the semi-final series:
Game One ¡V the teams that were ranked 1st and 2nd
will have the choice of last stone in the first end,
or, choice of stone colour.
Game Two ¡V the teams that were ranked 3rd and 4th
will have the choice of last stone in the first end,
or, choice of stone colour.
Game Three ¡V the teams will toss, the winner of the
toss will have the choice of last stone in the first
end, or, choice of stone colour.
7.
In the Gold/Sliver and Bronze medal games:
The teams will toss and the winner of the toss will
have the choice of last stone in the first end, or,
choice of stone colour.
8.
First named team in each of the round-robin games
plays the dark coloured handles, and should wear dark
coloured upper playing garments.
9.
The Chief Umpire will determine the schedule and ice
for any necessary tiebreaker games as soon as the
number of games required and the opponents have been
clearly determined. Additional training ice will also
be decided by the Chief Umpire.
